A year ago today…

A year ago today at 2pm I was walking down the aisle to meet my future husband. I can’t believe a year has passed already! I have so many happy memories of the day that I really will cherish forever, it is certainly true what they say about it being the happiest day of your life!

I wanted to share with you some of my favourite photos of the day, I’ll try not to bore you too much!

My beautiful Pronovias dress.

I think it suited my style and love of vintage things perfectly! Here is the detail of the dress

My button bouquet

After seeing how expensive fresh flower bouquets were, I decided I wanted to have something I was able to keep. This bouquet was made specifically for me and I love how unusual and unique it is!

This is the Tithe Barn at Meols Hall where we got married and where we also had our wedding breakfast. I love the simplicity of the barn

Just after we got married – I love this photo!!

The wedding cake

I am quite proud of this as I made all 3 tiers myself and decorated them. It was quite a relief to see it still standing!!

The Old Green River band

Martin Bennett who plays the keyboard and is the leader of the band is a good friend. If you like jazz you really should listen to some of their music!

And finally..

Our first dance 🙂

We spent our honeymoon in Hawaii and New York. This year we will be spending the weekend staying at the Midland Hotel in Morecambe, my new found favourite place!

Looking back on the photos I have realised they really do show a lot about the things we love. I am so happy that I stuck with what felt right and wasn’t swayed to go with a big dress, fancy make-up or a massive hair do. The day really was how it should be – the 2 of us showing how much we love each other 🙂

  1. Happy Anniversary!!! Your day looked beautiful, it’s no wonder you want to share it. The barn looks stunning and is exactly what I would choose! Congratulations and enjoy your weekend in Morcambe xx

  2. How wonderful! Looks like it was an amazing day and well done you for sticking to what was truly ‘you’ simply elegant and beautiful x

  3. Lovely post. Happy Anniversary, looks like it was a fantastic day and your photos really do show you enjoying yourself. Well done. xxx

  4. Happy Anniversay, and best wishes for many more happy years together. Your photos are lovely, thank you for sharing them. I agree about sticking to a wedding that suits the bride and groom. I think its the most important piece of advice (regarding the actual wedding day) that can be passed on to any couple planning a wedding. Everybody else need to take a step back let them tell you what they want and then do all you can to help achieve what they want.

  5. Happy anniversary!

Your photos are gorgeous and it looks like you made the perfect choices for you big day 🙂

The cake is magnificent! what an accomplishment! x

  6. Any wedding is what you make it and all the pomp and circumstance can sometimes detract from what the day is YOUR wedding. The wedding bouquet is beautiful and you both look very happy, sadly I find it hard to remember my day 33 year ago, eek!
