New year, new start

A bit of a belated happy new year! I hope you all had a relaxing Christmas and are all fresh faced and ready for 2015?!

You might have noticed I’ve been AWOL for a few months, what with starting University work and preparing for Christmas I haven’t really done any crafting. As always January brings new life into everything and a different perspective too. For Christmas hubby kindly bought me a Cloth Kits dress kit and a Tilly and the Buttons pattern which has spurred me on to get sewing again. I decided that rather than buying new clothes I would try and make them instead. However with regular work for uni and assignments needing to be done, I have hopefully set myself a realistic target of sewing one new item each month. I have written a list of the things I want to make and roughly when I will make them, hopefully to be timed with the seasons! I spent a happy hour or so scouring the Internet looking at gorgeous patterns and fabric and have bought what I need for the next 3 months.

Maeri at The Make and Do Studio has kindly offered to show me how to use an overlocker, which will help give my garments a more professional look.

My first item is going to be the Coco Dress by Tilly and the Buttons. I’ll let you know how I get on!

  1. Can’t wait to see it. I have a jar with all my 2015 projects in. When I finished one, I’ll pull the next one out at random, could make life interesting.
