I recently spent a weekend in the Lake District and was lucky to be able to explore the sculpture trail at Rydal hall
The sculpture trial consists of over 30 pieces of work dotted around the woodlands and grounds of Rydal Hall. All the work has been designed to be sympathetic to the environment and accentuate the wide variety of natural forms in the landscape. Much of the material used is recycled.
My favourite pieces were by Diane Standen, she uses a lot of felted pieces either in contrasting or complimentary colours to the landscape. The pictures don’t really do them justice but here are some of my favourites.
If you are local or in the vicinity I would really recommend you visit the trail, it’s perfect to keep the kids quiet trying to hunt down all the different artwork on the trail!
