Handmade Monday 108

My crafting seems to be a bit thin on the ground at the moment. What with a to do list as long as my arm and the prospect of starting a new job (all be it only for 2 days a week), my motivation seems to have been overcome by tiredness this week. So please forgive me for the small nature of my project for this weeks handmade Monday!

I am in the process of coming up with some new ideas for selling at Chouxchouxbedoo. One thing I wanted to try was a fabric flower

I’m really pleased with how they have turned out and they are so simple to do. I think the smaller one will become a hair clip and the larger one a brooch. I just need to make more of them now! I followed a tutorial I found on Pinterest (what would we do without Pinterest?!) and I have created a board with lots of other styles I would like to try in the future.

  1. Love your flowers! I made some similar ones recently at a craft evening – have you tried using 5 petals? Have a go – they fill out the flower a bit more. The possibilities are endless – I made a brooch and sewed one to a plain hair band. Good luck with your new job x

  2. Very cute indeed. I love the button centres. I agree with Natalie – try five petals, I think the odd number somehow works better. I think you’ll find these are really popular 🙂

  3. Awww they’re really pretty, I love the colours in the smaller one 🙂 Pinterest is brilliant – I’d be lost without it… but I’d probably get a lot more work done!! Simmi x

  4. I haven’t succumbed to Pinterest yet 🙂
There doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day. Good luck in your new job, I didn’t do a HM post this week but I’m going for a stroll around 🙂 Love your flowers, they are very pretty.
