Handmade Monday 53

Standard

This week I am finally able to share with you the gifts I have made for the Love swap organised by Gem’s country life dream, My swap partner was Pen of Rosa Lily. We decided to send approx 5 items to each other and after looking at Pen’s Pinterest boards, I had a good idea on the things I wanted to make.

Button Swap

Standard

Last week I signed up for some more craft swaps, I think I’m addicted to them! 2 are organised by the magazine popular crafts – a button swap and an owl swap. For both of them you have to make something, with the theme of the swap in mind, and also buy a gift for £3. I have also signed for for Hookin with Laa Laa’s travelling craft swap and dreaming of a life in the country’s Valentine swap (if you want to sign up, click on the buttons on my side bar!) I think this definitely ticks off one of my resolutions of doing more craft swaps this year!

Yesterday I came home to a parcel, which confused me slightly as I hadn’t ordered anything! on opening I found 2 lovely parcels wrapped in brown paper and a card from my button swap partner!

I was so surprised as the swap deadline isn’t until the end of January, so Rachael had been super quick in sending hers out! I couldn’t wait to open my parcels! Inside I found a fantastic book on making button jewellery and a handmade button bracelet – both of which I absolutely love and have already worn my bracelet today!

Unfortunately Rachael doesn’t have a blog so I can’t link through to her, but if you want to see other people’s swap presents pop over to the forum on the popular crafts website.

The dreaded ‘C’ word!

Standard

After looking through the posts for Handmade Monday this week I came across Amy’s bits and blobs blog where she talked about gifts she had received through an international craft swap. This is something I keep reading about and really want to get involved in. After more searching of blogs I came across  Hookin’ with LaaLaa via a link from Mrs A’s Blog. It involves making a christmas decoration to then send to your designated partner. I have to admit that I am a lover of Christmas and its never to early to start thinking about it! I already have my fabric etc ready to make all my presents – my aim is to limit the amount of ‘shop bought’ presents I give out this year. So I thought this swap was a perfect one for me to start off with and I already have lots of ideas as to what I could make! The closing date is Thursday 15th September so get over there quick if you fancy joining in!
