Fabric stash sorted

Standard

After revamping my charity shop cantilever sewing box a few weeks ago

I decided I needed to put it to good use. Now I’m not sure if it’s just me, but any small bit of fabric I have to keep, just in case! This has left me with a mound of off cuts perfect for appliqué projects. The separate compartments of the box were ideal to separate the different colours. So I spent a happy 15 minutes sorting into colour coordinated piles!

My scraps are now much easier to find and I can now see what colours I can use for my project!

Handmade Monday 71

Standard

I am quite pleased as this week has been quite productive! I have more or less managed to finish all of the things I wanted to make for selling at Thursday’s craft fair. There were a few other bits I had ideas of making however with working full time, there just aren’t enough hours in the day for sewing!

Every House Should Have a Tea Cosy

Standard

When I was thinking of what items I would lilke to make and sell, I decided on ‘things to put things in’ therefore trying to stick with bags and cosies. My next makes were therefore tea cosies. Handmade Monday 70 – Canvas Stall Sign

Standard

As you all know I have been beavering away making items for my craft stall. However I have also been spending quite a bit of time getting the look of my stall right. I think how it looks is just as important as the things you are selling, after all if you don’t entice your customers in to browse then it doesn’t matter what your products are like! So with this in mind I decided I wanted to have a striking sign with my stall name, tied in with my logo from my business cards and Etsy/Folksy site.

Appliqué flowers and freehand embroidery tote

Standard

Just a short post to show you another tote bag I have made, this time with a flower design

I think it has come out quite well. I like using buttons to add the finishing details such as the centre for the flowers on this design.

The bags from Hobbycraft are ideal for small projects and for 99p it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t go to plan!
