Abbeywood Gardens Trip

One of the perks of being a WI member is that you get to go on trips to places that you haven’t heard of before. On Sunday myself and 6 other WI members met at Abbeywood Gardens in Cheshire. We had an introduction to the gardens by Jane, the daughter-in-law of the owner, then we had free time to roam the beautiful gardens before having afternoon tea. A Tea Party Fit For The Queen

Not wanting to miss out on the jubilee celebrations I decided to host a very small tea party for some friends, whilst watching the river pageant on the Thames. I decided to go the whole hog and did afternoon tea, complete with Victoria sponge! I used it as an opportunity to practice baking again for the cake off tomorrow (more about that in tomorrow’s post!)

Ladies who lunch

So after a busy weekend I thought I would share with you what I have been up to! On Saturday I met up with some friends who I have known since starting secondary school. The girl who was hosting gave us strict instructions that the theme of the afternoon was Ladies who lunch and that we had to wear a dress!
