I bought some wooden beads a while ago as I have been meaning for ages to try making a knotted fabric necklace using wooden beads. I had a spare couple of hours today, so it was the perfect opportunity to give it a go. Here’s how I made this lovely necklace
The necklace is tied at the back using the ends of the fabric.
You will need the following:
Fabric 47″ x 3″
10 beads 15mm in diameter
Sewing machine
Thread
1. Fold your length of fabric in half lengthways, right sides together. Sew a 1cm seam down the whole length
2. Using a pair of tweezers to help, turn the tube right sides out. Have patience as this takes quite a while, but its worth it in the end!
3. Fold the tube in half and slide a bead own to the halfway point. Twist the fabric on one side of the bead and tie a knot. Repeat for the other side.
Continue to repeat this, alternating putting beads in to the right and left of the original bead.
4. Once all the beads are in place, with a knot either side to finish it off, take one end of the fabric, folding the raw ends in and sew close to the edge. Repeat with the other end.
Wear with pride! You can now make necklaces to co-ordinate with all of our outfits!

Very pretty, simple and effective. Love this
So simple and pretty. My Mum used to have loads of these when I was little but they’ve perished over the years. Maybe I’ll have to make her a couple of new ones
